One effortless way to deal with recommended reels as they appear in your feed is to hide them. It is easy and teaches Instagram’s algorithm to give you less of what you try to avoid.
Open the instagram app on the electronic device and sign/log in.
Scroll through your feed to find any suggested reels.
On the top right corner of the reel, tap on the three vertical dots.
From the dropdown menu, select the ‘Not Interested’ option. This will notify Instagram that you do not want to see this content.
Go on marking the suggested reels as “Not Interested” whenever it will appear. This will, over time, reduce the number of recommended reels shown to you since it is attuned to your preference.
Disable reel suggestions directly within Instagram’s settings to be more active in managing the suggested reels. This will ensure that you do not see any suggested reels when scrolling down your feed.
Tap the profile button at the bottom right of your screen.
This is the button to go to the profile. At the top right corner, it consists of three horizontal lines. A menu will appear, which will have “Settings”.
Tap the “Privacy” option from the settings menu to open your privacy settings.
Scroll down the privacy settings and select “Account Activity”.
Under account activity settings, you will find a toggle switch for “Reels Suggestions.” If you turn off the toggle switch, you won’t see reel suggestions in your feed.

Block Reel Suggestions From Specific Users
You can turn off reel suggestions from any accounts in case you do not want to see their suggested reels. This will filter out content you could be seeing instead, hence personalizing your feed on Instagram.
Open the profile of the user whose reel suggestions you want to turn off. You can find their profile whenever you search for their username or tap their name from any of their posts.
Upon entering the user’s profile, tap the three vertical dots in the top right.
Tap “Block” from the dropdown menu. This means their content will not be suggested for you, including Reels.
After this, you will be asked to confirm the blocking. Confirm your decision to complete this process.
